Our board-certified neonatologists work with neonatal nurse practitioners that staff the unit 24 hours a day. NICU registered nurses monitor and care for each the baby in the unit. Babies who may need NICU care include:
- Premature infants
- Infants with respiratory problems
- Infants with infectious diseases

The family-centered unit encourages skin-to-skin contact between baby and parent during the infant’s hospitalization. A lactation consultant is available to help mothers who wish to breastfeed their baby.
