Rehabilitation Services at Bayshore Medical Center offers a variety of programs designed to help patients with back injuries, balance problems or work-related injuries. Our program includes:
- Postural education
- Back injury prevention and lifting techniques training
- Balance and fall risk assessment
- Industrial rehabilitation
- Work conditioning
Cancer Related Fatigue Rehabilitation Program
Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF) is the number one complaint of patients diagnosed with cancer. Our physical therapists provide specialized therapy to address CRF, such as techniques to address pain (using massage, heat, stretching, and TENS) and instruction in exercise, endurance and balance.
Dragon Boating Exercise Preparation Workshop
Dragon boating is one of the fastest growing water events in the country. Bayshore Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center conducts an exercise workshop to help breast cancer survivors prepare for this fun rowing activity. The workshop will focus on beginners who don't have a lot of time or resources. For details, contact email@example.com.
Fall Risk Assessment and Conditioning Program
Bayshore Medical Center is the only clinic in the Pasadena area with a balance and fall risk assessment program using state-of- the-art equipment. Strength, balance, walking, speed, step length, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness are assessed, then Biodex testing and training equipment (Dynamic Balance Trainer, Gait Trainer 2 and Isokinetic System 2) are used to decrease the risk of falling and improve balance.
Back Safety and Ergonomic Education Programs
Bayshore’s team of licensed therapists go offsite to educate the community in industrial and office settings. Programs are tailored to the specific needs of the client. Each session may include visual aids, handouts, a speaker presentation and hands-on training. For details, please contact James Guzman at 713-359-5490.
