A dedicated electrophysiology lab at the Bayshore Medical Center diagnoses, pinpoints, and treats problem areas related to the heart’s electrical system. Cardiac electrophysiologists use the latest, high-tech equipment, including 3D mapping, to detect complex heart-rhythm disorders including:
- Atrial fibrillation and/or supraventricular tachycardia
- Atrial flutter
- Ventricular tachycardia
- AV nodal reentrant tachycardia
- Sudden cardiac arrest
The electrophysiology lab is also used for ablations, and the implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators, cardioverter defibrillators, and resynchronization therapy devices.
