Levels of Care

The emergency room at the Bayshore Medical Center treats a wide range of conditions, from abdominal pain and fevers, to car accidents and heart attacks.

Trauma is defined as a sudden, unexpected injury. As a Level III Trauma Center, we treat conditions including:

  • Heart attack
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic wounds, lacerations and amputations
  • Compound fractures
  • Crush injuries

Acute care includes conditions such as:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Chest pain
  • Respiratory difficulty
  • Animal/snake bites
  • Minor burns
  • Allergic reactions

Our express care system allows us to efficiently treat patients with lower-acuity conditions such as:

  • Fever
  • Flu-like symptoms
  • Dehydration
  • Headache/migraine
  • Minor lacerations
  • Sprains and breaks
