May 29, 2016, PASADENA, TEXAS – Bayshore Medical Center employees John Mathew, Director of Supply Chain, and Kirk Pogue, CFO, proudly donated Bayshore’s Physicians’ Library books to Rotary International- Books for the World with the help of The WheelHouse Inc. members. The Wheelhouse Inc. members collected the books in the library and packed them up for donation at Bayshore Medical Center. The WheelHouse Inc. is a nonprofit organization that helps men with drug and alcohol addictions by participating in various activities and living in an environment for rehabilitation. Bayshore Medical Center is proud to have a helping hand from The Wheelhouse Inc. members.
“This is a unique opportunity for Bayshore Medical Center to combine efforts of helping those in our community with The Wheelhouse Inc. and those outside our nation in countries with needs for literacy materials through Rotary Club International,” said Kirk Pogue, CFO.
The books that are donated through Bayshore’s Physicians Library to Rotary International- Books for the World will go to Southern Africa and help people of all ages. The project initially began in Rotary District 9300 in South Africa but now has spread to many areas in that region. More than 6,000,000 books have now been distributed through this program and Bayshore Medical Center is proud to donate books to Rotary International and help provide education in many African countries without public education systems.
