The Behavioral Health team at the Bayshore Medical Center addresses several issues commonly experienced by individuals 18 and older. The combination and severity of these concerns help determine if behavioral health services are required. Some medical conditions may cause behavioral problems and must therefore be ruled out.

Indications for adult psychiatry, depression treatment, or any form of behavioral health care, include:

  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Aggressive behavior
  • Low self esteem
  • Disturbed sleep patterns
  • Poor appetite
  • Constant worrying
  • Frequent anxiety
  • Overuse of alcohol, medications or drugs
  • Racing thoughts

  • Violence towards self and/or others
