Cardiac rehabilitation is a specialized, comprehensive program for patients who have heart disease, or those at risk for developing heart disease. Registered nurses, exercise physiologists, and dieticians come together to help decrease the risk of a first or second cardiac event, cope with heart disease, eliminate bad behaviors such as poor diet and smoking, and increase strength and endurance.
All sessions are EKG-monitored and supervised by professional staff with training in cardiac rehabilitation. Prime candidates for cardiac rehabilitation include patients with:
- Heart failure
- Coronary artery bypass graft
- Open heart surgery
- Heart attack
- Stent placement
- Valve repair or replacement
Cardiac rehabilitation is available 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. For more information, please call (713) 359-1375.
